Finding Fitness, Day 2

If soreness is a direct reflection of effort and success with the goal of losing weight, my first day was a complete and utter success. I could use a masseuse, a hot tub, and a couple Advil. Anyone?

So here’s what I learned last night: Trying to work out at 6:30 is stupid. Too many people, and way too intimidating. So I went later that night around 9 and had the place to myself and was free to try every little thing my heart desired. Let’s see… the stair master, whew, if you ever need a machine to work your toosh and sweat off a few gallons of water, that’s the ticket. No joke, I lasted about 5 minutes before I noticed a friendly looking exercise bike in the corner. Not the Lance Armstrong kind, the kind where you can sit back and watch TV. Now that’s more my style. What else… oh, exercise balls are for people with balance (I have bruises to prove it), and 5lb weights are a lot heavier than they sound. And I most definitely no longer have the body of a 19-year-old.

In other news, I’ve been doing research on healthy recipes because I have no intention of eating salads every day for the rest of my life. It’s just not possible. So today’s experiment is a healthy Grilled Salmon. I’ve never really used a grill before and I’ve never cooked salmon, so if you don’t see any postings here from me tomorrow, you can probably figure out why… :) Wish me luck!
