Fighting with Father Time
Friday, January 4th, 2008No matter how many times it’s been said and tagged as cliché, there are still not enough hours in the day! And there certainly aren’t enough minutes to spare before it’s time to head off to work. At the beginning of this I thought I’d sort of pencil in “give up fast food during weekdays” to my new year’s resolution because the two kind of go hand in hand, but honestly, how am I supposed to say no to a super tasty Double Whopper with Cheese when it’s just a few blocks down the road, takes only moments to eat it’s deliciousness, and no time to prepare?
I’m telling you, grease is good, and so much easier. Ugh. So I slipped. The Double Whopper with Cheese was calling my name. And I ate it. And the makings of a tuna sandwich are sitting on my kitchen counter where I left them this morning in my rush to head out the door. I mean, I guess I could have found a salad or a healthy sandwich somewhere… but… at least I didn’t order the whole meal, right? I promise that’s the last bit of fast food I’ll have for a really long time. And I can always make something better tonight and then take a trip down to the gym and put in an extra few minutes on the elliptical. Ohhhh boy. Your honor, I plead guilty.
So the lesson for today is: even if you screw up on day 3, there’s still hope. I hope.
Goodbye Double Whopper with Cheese… I’ll miss you.
